I trained as a birth doula because I wanted to advocate and care for birthing people the way they want to be cared for. All too often, pregnant people report receiving sub-par bodywork because the therapist simply isn’t trained to provide safe, relaxing, yet effective prenatal work. My personal approach to prenatal bodywork is to truly listen to your needs and preferences, to not shy away from deeper work on pregnant bodies, and to do so safely and confidently so that you can relax. Sessions are side-lying with plenty of bolstering to keep you comfy, and allow for work on the back, hips, legs, and rest of the body. Minimal hands-on work is done on the belly itself unless specifically requested.
